PROPER TATTOO AFTER CARE
BECAUSE I CARE
IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING
JUST REMEMBER EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT
THIS CHART IS JUST AN ESTIMATE

The aftercare of your tattoo will greatly determine the way it will look once fully healed. At Ink Therapy 101 I have spent countless hours studying and researching the best methods to heal your tattoo. To achieve bright vibrant colors and smooth shading all you have to do is follow the instructions. A lot has changed in the tattoo industry and aftercare is one of those. I have learned that the old way using ointments which are mostly petroleum based do nothing but smother your tattoo and trap bacteria. This puts you at a greater risk for infection and poor healing, resulting in loss of tones and textures as well as color. Know that during the healing process, especially for new comers to the ink-life world, that I will be there to help you in any way I can. Feel free to call or text me and I will answer any questions or concerns that may arise.

STEP-BY-STEP AFTER CARE PLEASE FOLLOW
Wear your first Saniderm bandage for 24hrs. When you are ready to change your bandage, it is best to do so in the shower. Plasma will build up under your bandage, and make a yucky mess everywhere. Follow the instructions below on what to do after you take your first bandage off. After following the below instructions, your second bandage will be securely place and left on for four more days, bringing the total bandage time to five days.
1.) With clean hands wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap using only your finger tips. not a wash cloth or poofy.
2.) Using cool water will help make cleaning your tattoo easier. Once fully clean and all the plasma and build up is completely off, you should now pat dry your tattoo “using a clean towel.”
3.) Once fully dry if your bandage came off you can now apply your second bandage. If you are at the end of your 5 days and have done steps 1 and 2 you are now ready to start the "KEEPING IT MOIST" stage.
4.) Wash your hands and apply a VERY thin coat of either cocoa butter oil, or auquaphor. I have learned over the years that cocoa butter oil lasts longer and conditions the skin more effectively, for a much longer lasting effect. Easier when your at work, so your not running to the bathroom to lotion every 20 minutes. Since it has been 5 days and your pores are all closed and risk of infection is gone, using cocoa butter oil is fine. For those of you with sensitive skin we recommend Lubriderm sensitive skin.
Remember you still have to keep your tattoo clean, even in the lotion stage. Making sure to wash your tattoo 3 to 4 times a day with antibacterial soap.
As always keep your tattoo out of direct sun light, no tanning, no baths, no swimming and if you have a finger or hand tattoo no washing dishes. Try to find someone help you for this if possible, for 2 weeks or until fully healed. Once your tattoo is fully healed we recommend sun block if your gonna be out for long periods.
